Inner Energy, The Hidden Component To Your Success - From Personal Growth to Finding Your Purpose

During a recent Karma and Inner Energy Secrets presentation at the Total Health Show 2009, there were many questions requiring the definition of “Personal Growth” and Success.

Personal Growth could be observed and measured on many different levels.

Where some would place more value on knowledge or education, receiving a formal degree would be defined as personal growth. Others who have a more practical outlook on life consider achieving a higher salary, or position as their ultimate personal growth. There are also those who search for power, and others need respect.

Some view personal growth as a more successful family life, or even a gain in spiritual awareness, or enlightenment.

Inevitably we would view ”Personal Growth” based on our, and our sphere of influences, current life perspectives.

However you define personal growth, you will soon realize that to achieve personal growth on any level, you would ultimately require “Inner Energy”.

Inner Energy, as it has been described in many ancient, eastern and western traditions, has always preceded any form of action.

Here Inner Energy becoming the necessary component to support our emotional strength and self confidence, to create a clear vision of our desired outcome, to give a true physical strength and the necessary inspiration to take immediate action.

Inner Energy as the hidden component to our success has the ability to do more than just empower but also redefine our personal growth from the inside out.

Ultimately reflecting Success, Personal Growth could be defined as the steps you take towards your True Life's Purpose.

As you are experiencing inner growth, your path, your purpose may include greater and greater elements of helping others through inspiration.

Helping through Giving and Helping through Inspiring could have somewhat of a different meaning. Helping through Giving is giving away from what you have, at times it is very difficult and limiting, as you may feel that you do not have enough to give.

Helping others through inspiring, could expressed a much more true and powerful gift. Inspiring others, giving them power is unselfish and unlimited. Inspiration, which comes from the very essence of who you are, regardless of how much physical possessions you have. Inspiring and not giving becomes more rewording as one person has the ability to inspire an entire nation.

To be an inspiration, you need not change anything about you.

The opposite is true, it is the very uniqueness and individuality of who you currently are, rich or poor, tall or short, young or old, walking or on a wheel chair, inner energy at your disposal, guided by your intention you need not change a thing, but use your individuality and personal power. You, as you are, can begin making immediate difference in your life and in the lives of others.

The 3 Most Prominent Personal Growth Barriers

What's the deal with all this personal growth and self development business? Why bother in the first place? Charles Atlas who earned himself the title as the 'the world's most perfectly developed man' had this to say: 'Truest SUCCESS is but the development of self.'

It's so easy to treat personal development as 'optional' and so few people ever take the time to actively improve themselves. Your personal growth and self development is arguably one of the most important thing you can do with your time. You can even argue that to actualize your true potential is the purpose of being here. In many ways all your actions are geared towards 'self improvement'. Everything you do, you do with a positive intent. This, however is mostly unconscious and for the majority of people it's a case of pursuing 'things' and 'stuff' with the (all to common) assumption that when they get enough stuff they will be happy.

You don't have to search too far to find just how wrong this theory really is. Every day we read about 'extremely successful' people who end up in rehab or who kill themselves. Why? To return to Charles Atlas - true success is but the development of your 'self'. At no point in your life can you just stop and say 'now I am successful - I think I'll take the next 10 years off'. Unfortunately this is 'the dream' that so many people aspire to.

The key to a lifetime of happiness lies in personal growth. Real and lasting fulfillment in life comes from consistently improving the quality of your life. Life is dynamic and it has to keep moving. Like in nature, everything that does not grow, dies! You will either grow or die, and although you probably won't die a physical death, you most certainly will suffer a psychological death. Depression is but one example of the effects of failing to grow as a person. If you are not growing you will feel like you are dying.

Every day life hands us opportunities to grow. They are mostly disguised as problems and unfortunately most people curse them instead of seeing the wonderful opportunities that they present. Earl Schoff once said 'Don't wish for less problems. Wish that you were better'. This is where personal growth comes to play and you must do it on purpose and with an active state of mind.

So why do people fail to actively participate in their own personal growth? Well, there are certain personal growth barriers that prevent them from actively progressing in any area of your life. The key word being 'actively'. The three biggest personal growth barriers are three interrelated behaviours that tend to keep us immobilized and locked up in inaction. The result being the failure to progress with our lives.

Personal Growth Barrier #1: Procrastination

Procrastination is the irrational delay of tasks, especially important ones. On a conscious level you might want a specific result and you know what course of action to take, but still you remain immobilized. The failure to act is what keeps you where you are. It is likely that what you are procrastinating about is what you MUST do as this will help you grow in your ability to take action and just do it. Keep in mind that you only procrastinate about tasks that you value and at some level you know you will benefit from it.

Personal Growth Barrier #2: Indecision

Every single action is preceded by a decision. The ancestor to every action is a decision and the failure to act can be traced back to the failure to make decisions. The ironic thing is that not making a decision is a decision - isn't it? Indecision is like a disease that you have to eradicate from your life. Indecision is simply the result of a fear of failure and by not making a decision you can't fail - right? Realize that nothing in the future has happened yet and fearing the worse possible outcome will almost certainly keep you from making the decision. If you don't make the decisions you won't take the actions and you will remain immobilized.

Personal Growth Barrier #3: Comfort Zones

Comfort zones are all those things that you are too familiar with - and often to the point where you don't even attempt anything else. Inside your comfort zones everything is known and you have this sense of certainty that you can comfortably deal with anything that comes your way. You've done it before and you feel 'at ease' with it. Stepping outside your comfort zones challenge your beliefs and it challenges your perceptions. Stepping outside your comfort zones however, challenges you to grow as a person - you have to grow to get comfortable outside your old comfort zone. Most of your limitations are self imposed and controlled by what you belief you can or cannot do, what you like or dislike, what you think is right or wrong. You have to keep stretching your 'self' physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually to avoid standing still and remaining imprisoned by your comfort zones. Oliver Wendell Holmes once said 'Man's mind, once stretched to new idea never goes back to it's original dimensions.'

All barriers are only that - they are barriers. It often strikes me how these typical vehicle barriers at boarder check points are so 'flimsy'. They can hardly stop a bicycle, yet they stop big sixteen wheelers. The barrier is more psychological than actual. So are the barriers to your personal growth. They can stop you, but they can't keep you unless you allow them to. Simply acknowledge them and then move on. Personal growth is a choice and it's an active process. To ensure a happy and fulfilled life that is filled with joy and appreciation you have to consistently grow and expand your 'self'.

How To Unleash The Power Of Self-improvement

To unlock the infinite power of self you must understand what Self is. Your self consists of three core elements: your body your mind and your spirit. You must work on each one of these elements as part of the self improvement process. Each part of self affects the other and each is as important as the other.

Self Improvement Through Body

Your body is the vehicle with which you interact with physical life. Through your body you communicate with the world around you. Your mind uses your body to express itself, your spirit uses your body to experience itself. You must keep your body as fit and active as it is possible for it to be for the rest of your life. Improve your diet. There is so much information on nutrition and health. Feed your body so that it can perform at an optimal level everyday. Your body includes your hair and skin, your heart, your blood, your respiratory system and your hormones. What are the foods that you need to be consuming that keep these parts of the body functioning at their peak - always?

Your body was built as a strong active working machine. It has been constructed for a potential life of well over a hundred years. If you do not let your body do what it was designed for it will falter and ultimately fail. As well as feeding body for optimum health you must also exercise it so that it can renew itself. Your muscles keep themselves strong by use. The same can be said of your brain too.

Self Improvement Through Mind

It is through the mind that you make the decisions for your body. Everything that you are today has been planned out by your mind. The job you do, how much you earn, the person you married, your weight, your beauty, your car, your house etc, etc. Through your mind and your thoughts you have created your present life experience. If you want self improvement any part of your life as you experience it now you must improve your mind. Knowledge is a key that opens so many doors. Improve your mind through the acquisition of information. Perhaps you want a better job and to earn more money. What do you need to know to get from where you are to where you want to get to? Do you need extra qualifications or to retrain?

However improving the conscious mind is the easier part. The difficulty is the subconscious mind which also has a huge part to play in your life as you experience it today. Perhaps you are overweight because you eat inappropriately. You find it difficult to resist the urge to binge on chocolate but you don't know why. The answer probably lies somewhere in your subconscious where you have stored learned behaviour from the past. Once you access the subconscious you can change what is stored there and thus improve your behaviour. There are a number of professionals and therapies who can help you improve your self through the mind and there are a number of self help techniques you can use.

Self Improvement Through Spirit

Such concepts as faith, hope, joy, contentment, peace, and love all fall within the realm of the spirit. You don't have to be religious to know the essential nature of these things to fully experience a life of the highest quality. However working with the spirit is different than working with the body and mind. You can work to improve you body and mind but you must work to let your spirit improve you. Just taking time on a regular basis to get in touch with your spirit will bring you self improvement at the most profound level. Religious structures and practices have been put in place by our ancestors to help us commune with the spirit. You may choose to follow a religion or find your own path but without good spiritual health you will find the power of self improvement in all areas much more difficult to unleash.

Self Help and Self Improvement

There are plenty of ways to define what self improvement means and there are thousands of perceptions about self improvement. For some, it may be a way to get rise in payments and for others, it may be a way to get the popularity among the friends and society. However, self improvement is a set of logical steps to improve you in any domain of life. Self improvement differs for everyone as their perspective and goals are different. Self-improvement is nothing but to know ourselves better and discover the inner and positive talents.

Power of Self Improvement

Many of us come across the problems that stop us to pass through the developmental stages of our life. Self-improvement helps us in clearing those difficult developmental stages of our life. It also results in giving positive changes to keep you happy throughout the life. Maintaining and following the essential steps of self-improvement will help you to achieve the success in your personal as well as professional life. Walking on the path of self-improvement also helps us to motivate for carrying out the impossible milestones in our life. As there are innumerable opportunities so are the competitions. It helps us to grab those opportunities and be at the top among the crowd. Self-improvement gives enough confidence to achieve almost anything in life and change the 'impossible' to 'possible'. Self-improvement empowers us to achieve our goals, ambitions and dreams.

Self Help

Self-help is an important tool to discover the ways and tricks to tackle certain problems on its own. It is an ability of a person to think and rethink until he gets the right solution for some specific problem. Our mind constantly keep working on how to develop ourselves and find the most effective way of getting the top position in specific field. Self-help is a method of inventing the most effective ways of solving the issues and concerns that arise in the mind. Sometimes, it also deals with finding and improving changes within people around us to make our environment healthy and comfortable. In this way, it not only helps them to move forward in their lives but also helps in being in a positive environment all the time.

Ways for Self Help

The most important thing to start with self-help is to understand the milestones that you want to achieve in life. Knowing the achievements would help the mind to start with the thinking process to produce an effective result. Motivation is an essential part of the self-help programm. Motivation alone can take you to the top. Try to increase your self-confidence by exploring yourself in the lax areas. Building the self-confidence will help you to eliminate the causes of your happiness and success. Concentrate more on your goals and keep trying until you achieve those milestones. That would not only improve your overall performance, but would also keep away from the stress and anxiety. Self-help and self-improvements are definitely the key features for a happy life.

Play Sports And Be Healthy

If you're looking to get fit, you probably know that it's going to take a great deal of exercise along the way. You might be thinking about starting a course of exercise, or getting involved in some fitness activity. But have you though about getting involved in a sport? Sports are one of the easiest ways to get you into shape and using muscles that you've allowed to permanently relax. On top of that it's a great way to meet new people, and an amazing way to relax after a hard day at the office.

Sports, largely team-based sports, involved a range of skills that are useful in every day life, like teambuilding and strategic thinking, for example. It is this mental element that makes sport enjoyable; whether it be in pursuit of a goal, basket, touchdown or home run. Getting out there and getting involved in a sport can really help you de-stress and forget about your daily worries, which is imperative for improving your health and fitness. Additionally, it'll also get the blood pumping and keep the vital organs ticking over healthily, which will help you fend off heart attacks and strokes in later life.

Sports combine two types of exercise which can improve your fitness: strength and cardiovascular. The strength aspect comes from toning and shaping muscles through the natural resistance of heavy movement. This can be great if you're looking to firm up, and can also help turn excess fat into muscle. The cardiovascular element helps improve your lung capacity and stamina, and has the greatest impact on your physical fitness. The combination of the two is very useful in promoting weight loss, improving speed and improving appearance all round. With the added incentive of competitive sport, you can see it starts to shape up as a great idea.

If you're looking to get involved in sport for fitness reasons, or for any other reasons there are loads of opportunities in most areas nationwide. Check out your local newspaper, or classifieds in your area for information. You won't have to look too far before you can find a sport that's ideal for you, and that you're going to enjoy whilst getting fit at the same time. As long as your dedicated to the cause, sports is one of the best ways to get yourself back into shape, for the permanent benefit of your health.

The Human Brain

The brain is an organ that controls all your movements. When you need to talk, walk, sleep, etc. your cells send messages to your brain to take action automatically.

The brain is very weird in structure. It is fixed to fit your head, and while it is the size of your fist, the brain is divided into to part, the right brain and the left brain. Your right hand controls your left brain, while your left hand controls your right brain.

Both the right and left brain have different functions; in one hand, your right brain includes comprehension, writing, numbers, etc., and in the other hand, your left brain includes, drawings, imagination, pictures, etc.

“Our brain works like a computer”, a scientist from Harvard University once said. “It reads word-by-word from first looks.

For, the reason why you do not feel the process of your brain is because it is from your nature to use it, although some people to not try to develop the rest of it, e.g. if you got hurt messages from cells weren’t going to be sent to your brain as fast as to where you got hurt, so, you would obviously respond unconsciously to the hurt muscle till the message reaches your brain for a logical/reasonable reaction, and as we further talked about the parts of our brain, there are two minds that control the way we respond to cells, the conscious and the subconscious. The subconscious mind includes involuntary movements and works even when you are sleeping. Without the subconscious mind, oxygen wouldn’t have lasted till you woke up after a long sleep, due to the decreased amount of breathing and blood exchange in the body. In other words, without the subconscious mind working while you are asleep, most your body organ systems would stop and your body would probably feel weak, causing a lot of common heart diseases.

While your other mind–conscious mind- only works for voluntary acts, e.g. when you want to move, after your cells sent the message to your brain, your conscious mind helps you stay conscious while moving or taking any other act.

Self Help Goals For Health And Wellness

Some people have little to do with the creation of self-help goals that directly affect the way they live. Complying with these goals will seem almost mandatory to some, especially if they want to reap the full health benefits offered under their health care insurance plans. Some of the health goals set by insurance companies are designed to encourage people to live healthier and happier lives, but medical problems might keep some people from reaching the goals that have been set.

Participating in the self-goals set by insurance companies for better health, wellness is purely voluntary, and the insurance companies hope that these self-help goals will produce lifestyle changes that will ultimately reduce the number of medical claims submitted to cover long-term, in-patient hospital care. While these health goals are a minute part of the health care plans that apply to those covered under Government insurance rate plans, the overall cost of insurance for everyone is affected by the success of the self-help goals.

Most insurance companies will create self-help goals, which are set for improving the health and wellness of millions of people around the world. The insurance plans will render better benefits to hundreds of aged people that live around the world who are living longer lives because of the lifestyle changes they made when they were younger. With subtle lifestyle changes, a large population can make a significant change to the cost of healthcare benefits simply because the need for benefits will lessen.

Some longevity increases will be realized because older people will utilize management tools that will help tailor their lives to a style of living that is based on a healthy diet and responsible health choices. As each goal for self-help is reached, the overall health benefits rendered from completing the simple tasks associated with the self-help goals can often be seen with the naked eye. A person's appearance will not only change, but the way they walk and talk will be noticeably different too.

Some people change their lifestyle by changing the types of food they eat throughout the week. A diet that is full of nutritious foods will show its heath benefits when an overweight person begins to lose weight and inches of body fat. The self-help goals might have been set to reach a desirable body weight but other benefits will come from that effort. Not only does a person lose weight that could be taxing on their heart, they also reap the benefits of gaining confidence in their own abilities.

Health care insurance companies have included health club memberships in the health care packages at many corporations. These are health care benefits that can return control to people who have mismanaged their health through excessive fats and carbohydrates. Since insurance covers the use of these facilities, many individuals are making a concerted effort to change the way they eat and the number of times they exercise each week.

The person might use self-help reference materials to learn about the number of calories that items on the weekly menu contain. The self-help guide might have recommended that a person create a monthly meal planner. By taking an active part in the self-help goals created by insurance companies, people begin to feel better about who they are and are not as depressed as they used to be. The self-help goals for health and wellness will make subtle suggestions for improving a person's image.
